Process of Japanese style green tea is mechanized. The leaves are first steamed on a rapidly moving conveyor belt to make them soft and supple, then cooled and repeatedly rolled, pressed, sorted, polished and dried before being cooled again and packed at the end of the production line. When brewed, it gives pale green liquor with a fresh and flowery taste.
