Sodium alginate won't react with active dyestuffs and form covalent bond due to its own second hydroxyl in its structure without the origin hydroxyl, and strong cathodic carboxyl on its basal ring. Therefore, it doesn't only absorb the dyestuffs, but also excludes it. It is easy to move the dyestuff from the paste to the fiber, which benefits keeping clearness and uniformity of printing. Accordingly, the printing effect is clear, vivid, with high dyeing quantity, good hand touch and firm degrees at the same time.
Sodium alginate of medium and low viscosity types is both suitable for net or roll style printing requirements and handwork printing. Owning to rheological property of pseudo-plasticity, which means that it will turn watery when being cut and restore the original viscidity after losing cutting, this additive is applied to printing fine flower patterns in full ground printing and wet printing, featuring refined line, clear profile and good uniformity.
